Pharmaceutical Logo Mock-up

Pharmaceutical companies must ensure that their brand stands out and is easily recognizable to their customers. One effective way to achieve this is by creating a unique and memorable logo. A well-designed logo can establish brand recognition, leave a lasting impression on customers, and enhance the company’s credibility. In this article, I will outline my step-by-step process for creating a monogram logo specifically tailored for pharmaceutical companies.

Before we delve into the process, let me provide you with some background information on the client’s request. The client desires a logo that incorporates the letters R+F along with pharmaceutical symbols, emphasising the colours blue and green. The logo should convey a sense of friendliness, comfort, and affordability associated with the brand. Based on this brief, I opted to create a simple monogram logo with a modern gradient touch in terms of colouring. Without further ado, let’s explore the step-by-step process:

Research and Brainstorming Ideas

The initial stage of crafting an exceptional logo involves conducting thorough research and analysis. Communicating with the client about their target audience and the unique value and benefits their company offers is crucial to understanding how to effectively convey these aspects through the logo design.

To gain inspiration and insights, explore various pharmacy company logo designs on platforms such as Google, Pinterest, Dribbble, Behance, and others. Examine these designs to gather ideas and initiate the brainstorming process. Start by sketching out several logo concepts based on these inspirations. Here are some of the sketches I’ve created for the logo concept:

By exploring a range of ideas and sketching out different concepts, we can lay the groundwork for developing a strong and impactful monogram logo that aligns with the client’s vision and effectively communicates the desired message.

Choosing the Compatible Concept

After gaining a thorough understanding of the client’s target audience and value proposition, you can proceed with selecting the most compatible design concept for the monogram logo and brand element. This involves making decisions regarding the font, colour scheme, and any graphics or symbols to be incorporated.

When choosing a font, prioritize legibility and readability. Ensure that the selected font aligns with the tone and personality of the brand. It should effectively convey the intended message while being easily readable across different mediums.

The colour scheme plays a crucial role in the logo’s impact. Consider the emotions and associations evoked by different colours and select a scheme that resonates with the brand’s personality. Colours can elicit specific emotions and convey messages, so it is essential to choose hues that align with the desired brand image.

By carefully selecting a compatible font, colour scheme, and other graphic elements, you can create a monogram logo that not only represents the brand effectively but also appeals to the target audience, evokes the desired emotions, and communicates the brand’s personality in a visually engaging manner.

Creating the Vector Design

Begin by using design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Figma, Corel Draw, or similar applications to transform the sketch into a vector. Once the vector is complete, you can proceed to colour it according to your preferred style. In this particular case, I applied various colour codes for blue and green and presented several options to the client. The design they chose is displayed below:

Delivering the Logo

After the client accepts the design, I give the logo some final touches and create a logo guideline. Before delivering the logo, there are a few important points to consider:

1. Check the Vector

It is crucial to thoroughly review the vector to ensure there are no small pieces or paths left untidied, and that all colours are consistent.

2. Create Outlines for the Text

Creating outlines for any text used in the logo helps the client open the vector file without the need to install specific fonts.

3. Logo Guideline

The Master Logo guideline provides a simple explanation of the logo’s concept, helping the client understand the elements that compose the logo and enhancing its meaning. The cover of the logo guideline is displayed below:

The logo concept

Additionally, I provide a safety zone area standard to maintain the integrity and visual appeal of the logo. This ensures it retains its intended shape and appearance, as shown below:

Logo Variations

Based on the client’s request for multiple logo versions, I provide both horizontal and vertical options. The black logo example is included to demonstrate how the flat logo appears:

Logo on Different Backgrounds

To assist the client in visualizing the logo against various backgrounds, I provide a Logo on Background guideline, illustrating how the logo can be used with different background colours:

Typography, Colors, and Font

I offer a guide that outlines the font used for the company name and text headlines, as well as the primary and secondary colours for the brand design:

4. File Type

Understanding the client’s needs in terms of file types is essential. It is important to inquire about the specific file type required. In this case, my client expressed the intention to create a stamp using the logo and requested a suitable file type for that purpose.

That concludes the overview of my journey in designing a monogram logo for a pharmaceutical company. Thank you for reading! if you have any comments or questions about the logo, please feel free to share them in the comment section.
